Our Story

It Started with a Story. It Grew into a Commitment to Community.
indigoLife has always been about people, their stories, and the communities they call home. What began as a way to recognize and celebrate community has grown into a body of work centered on strengthening the relationships and conditions that help people and organizations thrive.
our Beginning

indigoLife began in Cordele, Georgia.
After relocating from Miami to Cordele in 2011, founder Dr. Alicia D. Ritchey saw an opportunity to tell a different kind of community story. She wanted to create a platform that recognized the people, businesses, organizations, and experiences that contributed to the richness of life within the community.
In 2013, indigoLife Magazine was launched.
The magazine celebrated community voices and highlighted stories that might otherwise go untold. It created a space for people to see themselves, their work, and their contributions reflected in their community's story.
In 2014, that vision expanded with the establishment of indigoLife Communications, Inc.
The name remained. The possibilities grew.
our Evolution
As indigoLife evolved, one thing became increasingly clear: telling communities' stories was only one part of strengthening them.
The work expanded beyond storytelling. We began helping people and organizations examine how they communicate, lead, build relationships, navigate conflict, develop programs, and create stronger organizational communities.
Today, indigoLife Communications, Inc. is a community-building consultancy providing consulting, training, and thought leadership to organizations seeking to strengthen their people, programs, practices, and communities.
Our work remains grounded in the belief that relationships matter. Experiences matter. How people engage with one another matters.
Community building remains at the center of it all.
What is an indigoLife?
An indigoLife is the richness of life rooted in positive character that leads to prosperity, wellness, and goodwill.
The idea of an indigoLife reflects more than a name. It represents a way of thinking about how we live, lead, work, and engage with others.
It reminds us that stronger communities are shaped by what people contribute and how they experience being part of them.
our PILLARS
our Commitment
From our beginnings in community storytelling to our work today with organizations and leaders, indigoLife still believes in the power of community.
Our work may take different forms. The commitment remains the same: to help build communities where people, organizations, and ideas can thrive.
our Promise
Trust. Honor. Respect.
How we engage with people matters as much as the work we do.
At indigoLife, trust, honor, and respect guide how we build relationships, enter communities, listen to stakeholder experiences, and carry out our work. We recognize the responsibility that comes with being invited into an organization or community.
We promise to approach that responsibility with integrity, value the people and perspectives entrusted to us, and conduct our work in ways that strengthen rather than diminish community.
